Cambridge English Qualifications

Cambridge English For Life (CEFL) offers courses for a range of Cambridge English qualifications. They are Young Learners English (YLE), Cambridge English: Key (KET) , Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET) , Cambridge English: First (FCE) , Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) , Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) , Business English Certificate (BEC) The Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) Tests are aimed at assessing the level of English of children between the ages of 7 and 12 in a non-intimidating way. They aim to:

• sample relevant and meaningful language use
• measure ability accurately and fairly
• present a positive impression of international tests
• promote and encourage effective learning and teaching

Working up through three key levels – Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers, A2 Flyers – the tests provide a gentle introduction to the Cambridge Assessment English Main Suite examinations as young learners move into adolescence. BEC is a suite of three exams designed to test English language ability used in the context of business. BEC is the right exam for you if the following criteria apply to you:

• Your first language is not English.
• Your English language ability is sufficient for most simple communications, such as shopping.
• You have an understanding of or an interest in the world of work, business and commerce.

All written test papers are sent to Cambridge Assessment International Education for marking, which is completed within two weeks. Results are issued within one month of the test dates, allowing for despatch time. Every candidate who sits for all three components of a Cambridge Young Learners English Test receives an award, which has a maximum of five shields (Cambridge shields) for each test component.
